The fields in which Maca-GO™ are grown are USDA, EU and JA Organically Certified. This quality control continues through our manufacturing and packaging process with each facility GMP and USDA Organically certified. All our products also comply to EU and Californian heavy metal regulations.

NHI’s Product Specific Manufacturing Processes

Presented visually below is the TLC spectro-analysis of Maca-GO™ as well as the analyses of two of the major maca extracts on the market. Notice that Maca-GO™ contains the entire spectrum of actives that exist in maca as well as higher levels of the specific markers chosen by the two companies that manufacture a maca extract. NHI does not use any form of chemical or alcoholic extraction to concentrate our products. Rather NHI has developed a patented process (Patent pending U.S. Application Serial No. 60/819,583) using a combination of temperature, pressure and water in conjunction with our proprietary quality control processes to achieve higher efficacy levels while maintaining the purity and integrity of the herb.

This philosophy of developing a specific manufacturing process to maximize the efficacy and bio-availability is extended to each of NHI’s products. Each process is specifically designed for that individual herb and is based on the herb’s unique chemistry. The process concentrates the entire spectrum of actives in exactly the same proportions as they exist in nature. The net result is to maximize the level of each therapeutically active component, while retaining the many important synergies, finally delivering maximum therapeutic effects and optimal health benefits to our consumers.

Highest Quality Raw Materials

However, the first and integral part in creating a finished product that is 100% natural, organic and contains the entire spectrum of actives at therapeutic efficacy levels, is the raw material. NHI’s research program starts in the field. In specific countries around the world, we locate and select the herbal plantations that provide us with raw materials of the highest quality. The business partnerships that NHI has established worldwide mean that we either own or fully control the entire production sequence. This sequence begins with the planting, cultivation and harvest and includes controlling the product through drying and herbal-powder processing, before shipping to be manufactured in GMP-certified facilities in the US, China, Japan, Australia or Europe.

This process means that we pay strict attention to all of the following factors:

  • Specific species, sub species and phenotypes
  • plantation locations
  • soil and agro-management
  • rainfall and lunar cycles
  • harvest times in relation to growth and developmental stage of the plant and/or the diurnal cycle
  • harvest methods that minimise damage to the herb
  • variable drying technologies that depend on the herb and its primary purpose
